As you may have read earlier, I took my daughter to New York City back in December.  Well I'm all about making things fair so I asked my boys where they wanted to go.  My youngest son quickly tells me, "McDonalds!"  I thought, hey that's easy!  Then my older son tells me he wants to go to Disneyland.  We are huge Disney freaks so I was up for this trip!  My sister lives in San Diego so I thought it would be a perfect chance to visit.  Now I will tell you I have lived most of my life in the south and am used to the slow southern hospitality so my immediate thought was California (minus Disneyland) is just not gonna be my thing.  Wrong!!  I LOVED it!!  People were so nice and friendly and it was absolutely gorgeous!!  We spent the first day in San Diego and then headed to LA.  I got an air bnb for the boys and me in Hollywood.  We were a block away from the chinese theater and it was amazing!!!  We walked around Hollywood and saw the Chinese theater.  I of course had to see Clark Gable's hand print and my boys were excited about Donald Duck.  It was much smaller than I had thought but still very cool to see.  We walked around and they were getting ready for the Academy Awards.  Again, I thought it would have been bigger.  As we walked down the street a man with a snake offered to let us hold it and take a picture (for a small fee of course).  I couldn't say no to that!  I tried to get my boys to hold the little guy but they wanted nothing to do with it so I looked like a hero to them and put it around my neck, cringing the entire time.  They were laugh the whole time.  We also hit Venice beach on our little trip and it was so gorgeous.  People were so friendly and the boys and I ate at a charming restaurant right on the beach.  We walked around and watched all the surfers and headed on our way.  We finally got to Disneyland and of course it rained the entire day but we made the most out of it riding every ride we were able to get on.  The boys had such a great time!  We headed back to San Diego after two days to spend some much needed time with my sister and her family.  We spent the rest of the week hanging out at museums and parks.  Although I was disappointed my boys and I weren't "discovered" in Hollywood or that we didn't see any celebrities, t absolutely loved this trip and will be going back very soon.
