I have decided to start a yearly tradition with my daughter. We went to NYC right before Christmas to see the decorations and just spend some quality time together. It was a great decision! My daughter Claire is only 6 but we always have the best time together. We went with one of our friends and started the trip out with a delayed flight so we hung out at Chic Fillet for a few hours. A few hours later we headed over to the airport and boarded the plane. It was my daughter's first plane ride and the pure excitement must have worn her out because she was snoozing after about 20 minutes. After the scariest plane ride of my life, we finally made it to NYC at about 11 pm. After an even scarier cab ride, we got to our hotel and crashed once we hit our room. Our first day in NYC was fabulous!! The weather was super cold but we made the best of it. We headed over to Time Square to check out the sites. My daughter and her friend were in awe. The decorations were amazing! We checked out the window displays and then headed over to Rockefeller center. Claire was dying to ice skate but there was too much to do and I promised her we would do it next year. It was so fun seeing the tree in real life after watching it on TV on all the Christmas movies for so many years. The next day was pretty much detected to shopping. Ohhhh the shopping! Good thing this is just a yearly trip! I could have shopped for a week! We were only in NYC for two whole days but it was such an amazing experience. It was something special my daughter and I will have forever and we are both excited to keep up this tradition.
